The Calcutts House is located in the riverside village of Jackfield in the heart of the Ironbridge Gorge, the birth place of the Industrial Revolution. The Iron Bridge itself is the ideal place to start exploring the beautiful Shropshire landscape and its fascinating history.

St Bartholomew’s Day Celebrations
St Bartholomew’s Day is being marked at Blists Hill Victorian Town . Traditionally celebrated on this day at Smithfield in London between 1133 and 1855 and in other parts of the country until the 1880s when most events died out. The celebrations will take the form of street theatre and traditional drop-in workshops.

Shrewsbury

The ruins of its castle dominate Ludlow, a mediaeval market town in South Shropshire. The town is renown for its quality eating places, plus market and a collection of antique shops.
